Happy Holidays! – By ShotgunPinups.com
My blogging year of 2012 is ending, and I’m glancing over my site stats. It’s been an awesome year, with my social network audience tripling over the past 12 months! My top searches for the blog were tiki, theme parties, pinup, and gluten-free, and I hope I provided some useful content for those in need. If you have anything you’d like me to write about, please write firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here are my 20 favorite Search Terms from my stats this year. Some can be found by clicking the links, others I may tackle in 2013 (Duct Tape Cake, anyone?)
It’s kind of ironic that I have a hosting and homemaking book coming out next week, as, simultaneously, Husband and I have been packing up our beloved rented bungalow in California and preparing to move across the country next month with no real employment opportunities, or solid idea of where we’re going to live next.
After over a decade of being Angelenos, we’ve made the decision to leave California, moving back East to be nearer to my family and toward our own version of the Promised Land. (For us, it’s named Virginia.) True, this happened because of job layoffs, but other than the initial freak-out, we decided to see it as an opportunity rather than a crisis.
This is our life right now.
So it’s been a busy summer. Playing and working hard. Book layout, proofing, errands, vacations, parties, hosting, photo shoots, gun tournaments, getting central air installed…
A week or so ago, I was packing our bags to go on a trip and doing my usual Ned Flanders post-it note rampage for the house sitter (Thank you, Wanderlusting, for that great article, by the way! ). Upon making a list of everything I had to take care of before our vacation, I realized our house is a mess…and not just a little mess. As my Dad would put it: “This place looks like a pig sty.” Or better yet: “This place looks like a bomb hit it.”
One of my favorite blogs, A Slob Comes Clean, features my recipes for Curried Egg Salad and Curried Potato Salad today. (Thanks, Nony!)
These are great side dishes for your Independence Day Celebration, and they’re Vegan and Gluten-free, too. Happy 4th, everyone!
I’m happy to report that I am featured with a Spring Cleaning photo and article in the May/June Issue #2 of Atomic Bombshells Magazine ! This is a quality, full-size magazine with great shots of modern pinups, plus tips on living the vintage lifestyle. Get it here.
