Sage Cornish Game Hen and Stock

After my Halloween post, I was asked for my cornish game hen recipe. So heeeere you go!

I always try to make stock with any birds I roast, since I don’t like to waste food. It saves money and makes me feel like I’m making the most of the animal I’ve chosen to eat. This goes double for holiday birds which are larger, hunting game, or Farmer’s market or organic birds which are more expensive. So I’ve included the stock recipe, too.

Lemon-Mint Cherry Bomb

Recently, husband and I needed some drinks for some back yard warm weather fun, so I made up this cocktail. Last summer, we made real Sicilian Limoncello, the recipe to which I swore not to divulge.  But, you can either make your own similar Limoncello by following a recipe like this one here (which takes time, a few days up to several weeks). Or, you can buy some ready-made, such as  PalliniCaravella, or Villa Massa.

Taco Cage Fight: Gluten-Free Fish Tacos, Fruit Guac, and Margaritas

Husband and I ate tacos the whole weekend of Cinco De Mayo. Tacos for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It started as a coincidence, I kept it going as a joke, and then didn’t want to break our Taco Streak, so by Sunday evening it became THE ULTIMATE TACO CHALLENGE CAGE FIGHT XXVI.

I blame the margaritas.

I started making this when I moved in with Husband (then-Boyfriend.) I think it’s why he married me. It goes well with rosemary Smashed potatoes (below). I’ve also included the order in which you can pull this easy dinner together.


1 pound ground Buffalo Meat

3 tbsp BBQ sauce*

1 teaspoon brown sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced well

1/4 cup finely chopped onion (yellow, white, red or shallots)
