Hosting With Style – A Guide To Homemaking

Welcome!

If you love vintage-era styling, and love to cook, organize, travel, and entertain, then I might have what you’re looking for.

I began this blog as a supplemental content to my book, Hosting With Style- Beretta Fleur’s Guide To Parties & Homemaking, and as way for my readers from other various websites and magazines to connect with me. While I no longer post here regularly, the blog is still archived and the book is still available for purchase.

Easy Crock Pot Gluten Free Lamb Stew

In cold weather, Husband makes lamb stew for us. It lasts a few days and is great to have during busy work weeks when you come in the door wanting comfort food.

This keeps well in the fridge a few days but doesn’t freeze well due to the potatoes and carrots. This can be made without meat and beef stock for a vegan / vegetarian version.lambstew

Coconut Crack Macaroons

These unbelievably easy and tasty cookies are courtesy of Rachel Epstein and (along with many other recipes) can be found in Hosting With Style – Beretta Fleur’s Guide to Parties and Homemaking.

Naturally gluten-free, they are also perfect for Passover. Rachel brought them to Passover a few years ago and I would NOT stop eating them When I make them for my office, they get rave reviews and also complaints because they are so addictive.

Dames, Planes and Automobiles Summer Issue and Hot Rod Calendar

Hey Y’all,

Sorry that there has been ZERO blogging forever on my part… I am so busy and my regular day job does not afford me the extra time I used to have to blog. But once in awhile I hop on here and post-date some stuff so you can see what I’ve been up to!

I’ve been working on the Summer Issue of Dames, Planes and Automobiles. Featuring my usual layout and artwork, as well as an article on The War in the Pacific. A fun romp through the sand and surf with gorgeous dames, fighter planes, curvy cars, and a ton of great articles on living the vintage lifestyle, local artists, and groups that help out Veterans and active Military.

Summer Solstice Party Menu

I celebrated my birthday with a Summer Solstice Party. With lots of prep work and zero cooking except for grilling, this  easy summer menu feeds 20 people easily and keeps you enjoying the party, not slaving in the kitchen, while looking like WAY more effort than it is.

If guests ask what they can bring, suggest beer, vodka, a prepared salad or a desert. For dessert, my sister brought these Lemon Bars which were a huge hit. I couldn’t eat them so I made my standard Peach Cobbler, which I’ll post separately soon. Another friend brought some wonderful prepared salads from Whole Foods which added a nice touch to the menu.

If grilling isn’t an option, the meat and fish can be prepared in a hot heavy skillet on the stove.

Enjoy!
